Small class size, award-winning faculty and a nationally acclaimed undergraduate research program foster innovation as well as recognition. UNC Asheville is accepting applications for Community Directors, a 12 month live-in position which serves as part of the leadership team for the Department of Residential Education. The Community Director is responsible for designing and implementing integrated learning strategies to assist students in the achievement of a broad array of co-curricular learning outcomes. As a vital part of the Division of Student Affairs, the Community Director ensures the day-to-day residential operations of their communities with a wide variety of responsibilities. The people we seek are sensitive to diversity issues, have excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, and will be able to demonstrate exceptional competence in • organization and planning • programming • team building and community development • staff supervision and training, and • conflict resolution skills. Experience in developing and assessing learning outcomes is also desirable. Qualifications: A Master's degree, preferably in Student Affairs, College Student Personnel, Higher Education or a closely related discipline is required. Previous experience in housing, residence life, judicial affairs, Greek life or related experience at a college or university is also needed.
