ERIE’s territory includes 11 states and the District of Columbia. * Claims – Interns handle basic claims, ensuring compliance with appropriate statutory laws, as well as verify coverage, establish and maintain reserves, take recorded statements, handle correspondence, reports and records, resolve coverage or liability questions and issue checks for settlement or decline payment Home Office and Field Office placements available. * IT (Project Management, Programming, Quality Assurance) – Depending on position, interns may assist with the preparation of project deliverables and their associated administrative tasks. Interns may also support the planning and execution of project requirements, documentation, and analysis. Interns may also learn and write program code to meet client’s business and technology needs, and learn and apply principles and techniques of programming. * Finance (Accounting, Enterprise Risk Management, Investment, Treasury) – Depending on position, interns may assist with expense analysis, account research, and general accounting activities. Interns may also assist with inflation risk assessment refresh, and enterprise risk report production. Interns may also support credit research function by reviewing SEC filings, and assist in implementation of new systems. Skills & Abilities: All interns must have the following skills & abilities: * Good interpersonal, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, verbal, and written communication skills. * Ability to work independently. * Pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Business Administration, Business Management, Computer Science, Finance, MIS or related field, with completion of sophomore or junior years required. * Minimum 3.0 GPA required. * Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software required.
