THOROBREDS News: Interdisciplinary Artist Al Letson To Visit KSU

Powerful, soul-stirring, interdisciplinary artist Al Letson has received much national acclaim. Letson is host and genius of the National Public Radio show "State of the Re:Union," a heavyweight in the Poetry Slam Movement, a performance poet, a professional playwright and an actor. He has reaped artistic credibility and renown in all these areas.

He has performed on national, regional and local stages, including HBO's Def Poetry Jam and CBS's 2004 Final Four Pre-Game Show.

Now he plans to inspire those in the Kentucky State University community during a presentation at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, in Bradford Hall's Little Theatre.

While his interests are diverse, the common theme in Letson's work is his effort to bring people together. By examining difficult topics and influential historical themes, Letson strives to focus on our common humanity -- and always present a production with consummate artistry.
