Speaking for A Silent Majority

Posted By: Ivan Butcher II on March 30, 2012 Dear Mr. Mosler, It is public knowledge, I have spoken out about the underlying intentions of many investors and developers here in the Virgin Islands, especially on St. Croix. I really am not aware to what your true intentions are in regard to your investments or to the projects you have under development, but there are many questions. This financial and social realignment period of time here on St, Croix has opened up opportunities, in an abundance. Studies are indicating that the trend of today's travelers is not these mega hotels and resorts, they can get that everywhere else. Consensus among those who are encouraging an Agri-Eco-Cultural tourism package, feel the best way to go is the Bed and Breakfast, the mom and pop (family owned) type businesses. Travelers who are coming solely to experience the culture and environment, would flock to these establishments. This would open up the financial benefits to having visitors being hosted within the community, and not isolated in hotel compounds. This economic empowerment would immediately address our most basic social issues. You backing a B&B Industry, Within No Time, could be established expanding growth and opportunities here for the Residents of St. Croix. You have publicly stated, how you grieve for the people of the Virgin Islands, well I feel, this is your perfect opportunity to prove what you said. There is an old expression, " Put your money where your mouth is."
