College club takes 15th spring break trip

In 1997, Allen County Councilman Kevin Howell co-founded the Black College Club, and 15 years later, another group of club members will travel to Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Washington, D.C., to visit colleges and universities.

About 1,200 students have been members of the club since its inception in 1997. Despite its name, the club is open to students of all races, which is reflected in its membership, said Howell.
