Posted By: How May I Help You NC on April 19, 2012 The Home Depot is overjoyed to be in the third exciting year of our RETOOL YOUR SCHOOL Campus Improvement program. This year, we've received over a million votes for dozens of HBCUS, and now the competition is on. Last year, we awarded grants totaling $150,000 to HBCUs. A $50,000 Tier I Grant went to Bethune-Cookman University to help upgrade their Student Center with wheelchair ramps and barrier-free automatic access doors in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. As we count this year's vote, our distinguished panel of judges are reviewing the entries, and helping select the schools and proposals deemed most deserving of much-needed improvements. This year's grant recipients will be announced on May 4, 2012. Be sure to check back then to find out which schools will be awarded the grant money, and then visit the site often for ongoing campus improvement progress updates. Thanks for participating in this year's program, and being a part of this vital effort for HBCUs. http://www.retoolyourschool.com/ If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |
