HBCU men's tourney teams had low grad rates

The graduation data on men's and women's NCAA tournament basketball teams compiled by the University of Central Florida's Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sports do not show much change within the past two years. The gap between African-American and white male athletes earning their degrees did decrease this year, with 60 percent of African-American athletes earning degrees as compared to 88 percent of white athletes. Last year, the numbers were 91 percent for white athletes and 59 percent for African-American athletes.
