Posted By: S Proctor on April 22, 2012 CELEBRATING AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN IN GOLF The 18th Annual Women’s Collegiate Golf Classic/Championship APRIL 27-29, 2012 The 18h Annual Women’s Collegiate Golf Classic/Championship (WCGC) will tee off at 12 Noon on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Stone Mountain Golf Course in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The Women in Golf Foundation, Inc. (WIGF) is extremely pleased to host this exciting competition once again which will feature awesome talent from some of America’s top HBCU women’s golf programs as they compete for the “Renee Powell Cup”. This year’s event features: Donna Orender, CEO Orender Unlimited, past CEO WNBA, and initiative leader working with PGA of America on Golf 2.0, as the motivational speaker for Friday morning’s professional development session. She and several other outstanding panelists will cover the topic: Women….The Future? LIMITLESS Lauren Whitt, PhD, UAB’s Employee Wellness Coordinator and US National soccer team Pan American Games gold medalist, as keynote speaker for Saturday’s Championship Banquet. Elisabeth Withers, singer, song writer and Tony nominated actress recognized for her role in the original Broadway Production of The Color Purple, as entertainment at the banquet. The above events will be held at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter. Proceeds from the event will support both HBCU’s women’s golf and girls’ golf programs. This work is critical to the survival of golf programs for women in our HBCU institutions.
