Why aren't they smiling?

Posted By: Jimmie Lee Gibson Jr. on October 20, 2005 I posted a blog yesterday called 27 ways to make a woman smile and got an excellent response. I'd first like to thank all those that responded for all of the positive statements that they left. I really do appreciate them all. This blog is related to the previous one. I showed the list to a friend of mine and of course we began to discuss it. The big question was, "why don't guys do these things?" Her answer was because we aren't worth anything. Mine is a bit different. Part of it is we have a tendency to act like jackasses from time to time. But the other part of it is, women don't really give guys a chance to do them. Now, before you blow up at me let me explain. Every guy out there has thoughts of all the sweet things he would do for a lady. But a lot of times if he does them, she calls him soft and weak. He's a cornball. But if he doesn't, then he's an insensitive bastard. It's a fine line to tip-toe on. I've also heard that he can't be that sweet, he has to be up to something. That's not true either. Not every guy is up to no good, all the time. Is it really a surprise if you tell a guy that he's not worth anything that he doesn't want to do anything for you? One of the biggest points that I had to get across to her is that these things are meant to be special. She asked me how many girls I had done all these things for and I told her none. When she asked why, I told her that they are meant for me to show that special one just how special she is to me. If I do them for every girl I meet then they become insincere and are irrelevant. Or if you do them too soon, you seem crazy. So the plan is to be the best guy I can possibly be without giving away what's meant for a certain woman. So I stated at the beginning of the "27 ways" blog that the fellas need to get to work. But we need you ladies to work with us as well. All we need is a signal every now and then and we'll get to the ultimate destination. Thanks for taking the time to read this and feel free to comment or send me a message about it. I feel you man. I told this girl how beautiful she was and she blew me off. I was like...dang...try to give a compliment and you gets no respect. Stupid. However, us guys do act stupid at times too...
