Fraternities and sororities ,,,,,,AND COMMENTS !

Posted By: DAVID JOHNSON on June 08, 2012 Fraternities and sororities come from the concept of freemasonry, which comes from the concept of secret societies, which (in general western thought) comes from Grecian culture, when in reality the Greeks "borrowed" it from the citizens of Egypt, making fraternal organizations Egyptian/African in roots. So I would not see how it would make anyone a house nicca considering the cultural/historical/philosophical ties to Africa. IMO, the letters should be very frivolous to outsiders and are just surface-level classifiers for members of different organizations. I don't think one should put too much bearing on them (unless in the organization). Greek letters are also an extension of the Phoenician alphabet, which was influenced greatly by Egyptian hieroglyphics. Yes, there are some people who let these organizations "make them", but in that same token, there are many that were "made" before even stepping to the organization. Yes, it looks stupid as an outsider, but to the people inside it makes sense. It's all relative really and everyone is different. From the outside looking in, you could never understand it, From the inside looking out, you could never explain it. I do not get black people who join white frats/sororities though. Well because they arent apart of an egyptian organization, they are apart of a greek one that whos networking will only garner you success among europeans. Essentially, one joins a frat in order to recieve the cream of the crop of Crumbs from people of European descent. Many reasons...but there are usually two.. 1. White chicks... 2. There are black people on the planet who never knew the hood, never knew struggle or even something as simple as inner-city life. The concepts that most people consider "blackness" (which are mostly incorrect to begin with) do not apply to these people...what most people dont get is that race to these people was never the identifier. Class is. - i joined one because i consider many chapters of the Divine Nine to be ignorant (not all but alot). Many still have the defacto culture of "no white people" that in itself make them no better than the oppressors that forced segregation and thus the creation of black fraternities.
