Posted By: How May I Help You NC on June 12, 2012 Anthony Holloman, vice president for Institutional Advancement at South Carolina State University, has announced his resignation after working at the university for two and a half years. He will be moving to Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Ala., where he will also serve as vice president for Institutional Advancement. Holloman says the move is a step forward in his career. “I’ve enjoyed working at S.C. State, but I want to pursue an opportunity that will prepare me for my long-term goal of becoming president of an HBCU in the future,” he said. At Stillman, he will have the opportunity to learn under the leadership of President Dr. Ernest McNealey, Holloman said. During Holloman’s tenure at the university, he headed a capital campaign. Private giving rose and alumni support increased. Before coming to S.C. State, Holloman acted as associate vice president for University Advancement at Tuskegee University and assistant vice president at Tennessee State University in Nashville. His final day at S.C. State will be June 30. His resignation adds to the number of positions that are empty or filled by interim officeholders at S.C. State. The university is currently without vice presidents for finance and academics and without general counsel. Dr. Valerie Fields is interim vice president for Student Affairs and Kenneth McCaster is interim police chief. Dr. Rita Teal has been acting president of the university since President Dr. George Cooper stepped down on March 30. Dr. Cynthia Warrick will become interim president of the university on July 1.
