Posted By: How May I Help You NC on July 30, 2012 The Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) – a nationally recognized educational leader – is now the largest undergraduate college in New York City and the largest in The City University of New York (CUNY). Located in the heart of the City, BMCC reflects the best of downtown Manhattan: the culture of Tribeca, the vibrancy of Wall Street, and the promise of the Statue of Liberty. BMCC is a college that is alive with ideas and innovation, and supportive of the innate human striving for self-improvement. An international college with over 24,000 students in degree-programs and 12,000 more in continuing education programs from over 165 countries, the College offers opportunity to those students who desire it and wish to strive for it. Led by a visionary and highly entrepreneurial College President, Dr. Antonio Pérez, BMCC is executing an aggressive, thoughtful strategy for continuous evolution and growth. This strategic plan reflects the College’s core values and furthers BMCC’s legacy of leadership and innovation. Philanthropic support is vital to the success of this vision and, therefore, the College plans to substantially expand the Office of College Development under the leadership of an effective, dynamic Vice President. The Vice President of Development will lead the strategic growth fundraising, and create and execute an agile, multi-platform fundraising strategy, including planned giving, corporate and foundation relations, major gifts, alumni affairs, and events. Propelled by the exciting and historic opening of the new Fiterman Hall (which was damaged by the events of 9/11) this Fall, President Pérez and the VP will focus on public outreach and continue to build relationships with prominent business and City leaders. As chief development officer, the VP will: have primary responsibility for significantly expanding and diversifying philanthropic revenue; build a culture of philanthropy across the College’s diverse community; strategically engage the President, Foundation Board, faculty, alumni, friends, community leaders, and other stakeholders in fundraising activities; report to the College President, serve as a member of his cabinet, and serve as the chief operating officer of the College’s Foundation. BMCC has retained Freeman Philanthropic Services to assist on this recruitment; please visit www.glfreeman.com to review the complete position profile and requirements. Confidential applications, which must include an up-to-date resume and letter of interest, to FPS at BMCC@glfreeman.com.
