TIGERS News: TSU Cheerleaders Win Big in Regional Competition

Posted By: How May I Help You NC on July 30, 2012 TSU Cheerleaders recently participated in the 2012 Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) competition, bringing home a total of nine awards and recognitions. TSU can also be proud of the fact that they were the only HBCU in attendance. TSU’s Cheerleaders brought back the following awards: Game Day Award, Up and Coming Mascot Program Award, Leadership Award, 1st Place Fight Song Competition, 4th Place Sideline Competition and All Superior Ratings in four (4) evaluations. Other schools attending this year’s camp included: University of Texas, Texas A & M, University of Louisiana-Monroe, UT - Pan America, University of Oklahoma, Lamar University, Louisiana Tech, Texas State University and University of Houston. Universal Cheerleaders Association was founded in 1974 by Jeff Webb with the goal to provide high quality educational training for high school and college cheerleaders through summer camps and clinics on college campuses; and to also inspire leadership on and off the field.
