Posted By: How May I Help You NC on August 16, 2012 In 2011 the City of Columbus fulfilled more than $300,000,000 in contract awards City to be joined by The Ohio State University, The State of Ohio, Nationwide Insurance and More Columbus, OH — Join Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman at the Hyatt at the Columbus Convention Center on October 3rd, 2012 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for the Small Business Conference and Expo featuring resources and contracting opportunities for minority- & female-owned companies and small businesses. “We are proud to host this opportunity again for small businesses to learn about ways they can do business with the City of Columbus," said Mayor Michael B. Coleman. "I encourage all small businesses to come, attend the workshops and network with other larger businesses they may be able to work with as subcontractors. We are committed to having a diverse base of local vendors for our city's purchasing and contracting needs, to include female and minority owned businesses. This year’s event, “Go Forward: Driving Local Economic Growth through Small Business Inclusion and Sustainability”, will offer: Networking with nearly 100 city leaders, speakers, panelists and buyers with 40 expo businesses who will share their professional expertise and contracting opportunities with you More than a dozen in-depth workshops imparting valuable information and practical tools to help new and experienced business owners improve their chances of winning contracts On-site registration for required City contract compliance to become immediately eligible to bid on contracts from the City A luncheon conversation featuring Caroline Clarke, Executive Editor and host of Black Enterprise Business Report, Black Enterprise magazine’s national television show and a Bicentennial Salute to the City’s minority and female business owners A professional development opportunity for government employees and procurement professionals Registration is now open at http://msbc2012.columbus.gov.
