Posted By: How May I Help You NC on August 27, 2012 Vice President of Development Hunter College New York, NY Hunter College, located in the heart of bustling Manhattan, is the largest senior college in the City University of New York (CUNY) system. Founded in 1870, it is also one of the oldest public colleges in the country. Currently, over 22,000 students attend Hunter, pursuing both undergraduate and graduate degrees in more than 170 different programs of study. Under President Jennifer J. Raab’s leadership, Hunter continues to rise in national standing. The Princeton Review has ranked it among the Top 10 ‘Best Value” public colleges in the nation for three consecutive years. In the U.S. News & World Report’s college rankings for 2012, Hunter placed 7th among the Top 10 public regional universities in the North, and Hunter has moved up 18 positions in just four years to No. 34 among all regional universities (public and private) in the North. Hunter is one of only seven colleges in the nation to be awarded an “A” by the American Council of Trustees and Alumni in a study measuring the breadth of undergraduate core requirements. In addition, since 2001, Hunter has received historic philanthropic support, won new levels of government awards and private grants, and launched the first capital campaign in its history. Hunter seeks an energetic and dynamic Vice President of Development. The VPD will report to the President and serve on the President’s Cabinet; have primary responsibility for strategically developing and implementing an aggressive fundraising program; lead the Office of Institutional Advancement and manage all operations aspects of the development program; collaborate with the President on the formulation of fundraising goals and priorities; design and implement a comprehensive strategy to increase giving for all areas of fundraising including annual giving, major and planned giving, and capital campaigns; supervise and direct the development staff (18-19); and, be responsible for personnel, budget, operations, and communications for the division.
