Morgan State loses projected starting PG to academics
|
Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on September 06, 2012 Daryl Traynham, a one-time starter at UMass who spent last year at a junior college before subsequently signing with Morgan State, did not earn his Associates of Arts degree this summer and thus will be ineligible to play for the Bears this season, Morgan State coach Todd Bozeman told CBSSports.com early Thursday. "He's was what the doctor ordered for us," Bozeman said. "We'll have to adjust a little bit how we want to play." Traynham played his freshman year at UMass and sophomore year at Palm Beach State, where he led the Panthers to a 26-5 record while averaging 11 points, six assists and three steals. The 5-foot-9 point guard was projected to start for Morgan State this year. But he'll now be reduced to a practice player while he waits for the 2013-14 season.
