Cedric Perry, Cheyney University alum, publisher, and the creator of two web shows, “Pick 6” and “We’re Just Talking,” is coming back to campus to film a live taping of Pick 6, a show he created in 2009 for a college-audience.

“Since this is the 175th anniversary of Cheyney, I decided that the theme for this show will be “Reasons We Love HBCUs ”, explained the budding television producer.

Pick 6 addresses issues that young people go through, and provides a range of topics that give insightful information on how to excel in life. Perry makes sure that every issue and topic is addressed with laughs and smiles.

“The show is based on my experience, my friends, the need for love and education in the community, my role models, my college, and my desire to make the world just a speck better”, reflects Perry. Pick 6 brings flavor, laughs, excitement, inspiration and positive topics to the shows, in which he hopes every young adult can relate.

Cheyney Senior Kyle Morris joined the Pick 6 team in 2010 during its 2nd season, working as the show manager and director. “I asked to join after attending a live taping and I've been a fan ever since,” he said. “It’s a great show that people of all ages can enjoy. In fact, over the years we have toured at high schools and at Harcum and West Chester Universities, picking up loyal fans along the way.”

While Perry works to carve a name for his self in the entertainment industry, he tries to help others achieve their goals by giving them a chance to shine in the spotlight on both of his web shows. He lives by a motto that he hopes will inspire others--success is preparation, opportunity, and faith.

The Pick 6 live taping will be Homecoming weekend, Saturday, October 20th at 5 pm in Dudley Theater. Tickets are $5 online at www.pick6time.com and at the door. Perry will be joined by his co-host and Cheyney alum, Chris “Bandman” Carter, who provides the show with a complement of musical tones. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Cheyney Alumni Scholarship Fund.
