Tennessee State Tigers and Bethune-Cookman Wildcats hold top two spots in the Heritage Sports Radio Network (HSRN) Division I-FCS football poll. The Winston-Salem Rams keep a solid hold on the top spot of the Division II Poll.

In the Heritage Sports Radio Network's (HSRN) Division I-FCS football poll, Tennessee State (8-1) and Bethune-Cookman (6-2) remain the top two teams. AAMU slipped to a tie for fifth place with Delaware State (5-3) who dispatched Morgan State (3-5) on a Thursday night televised game.

North Carolina Central (5-3) slipped from fourth to seventh after a loss to Bethune-Cookman, but remained ahead of intra-state rival North Carolina A&T (4-4) who rose from ninth to eighth spot with their 30-9 win over Norfolk State. Howard (5-3) slipped from seventh to ninth with their loss to South Carolina State (4-4) which moved back into the top ten with their win over Howard. Morgan State (3-5) dropped out of the top ten this week.

In the Division II poll, Winston-Salem State (9-0) clinched their second CIAA Southern Division title and all fourteen first-place votes by the HSRN pollsters with a solid 62-31 win over Shaw (4-5). Miles (8-1), Tuskegee (7-1) Ft. Valley State (7-2) and Elizabeth City State (6-3) held their positions at two, three, four and five. Elizabeth City State also clinched the CIAA Northern Division title and will face Winston-Salem State in the CIAA Championship game in Durham, NC on November 10th. Albany State (6-3) and Chowan (5-4) moved up to sixth and seventh from eighth and ninth respectively.

St. Augustine's (5-4) slipped from sixth to eighth with their 27-21 loss to Johnson C. Smith (5-4) which jumped to ninth from unranked with that same win. Langston (OK)(4-4) fell from seventh to tenth with their 29-11 loss at McMurry.
