Faye Robinson, Opera Singer, Soprano is a graduate of Bennett College for Women. Faye Robinson's spectacular rise to operatic stardom has been highlighted by performances in the major musical centers of Europe and the United States. She has sung leading roles in Vienna, Paris, Berlin, Munich, San Diego, and at the New York City Opera and the Teatro Colesium in Buenos Aires.

Equally renowned as a concert artist, Robinson has sung with virtually every major orchestra, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the New York Philharmonic, the Philhadelphia Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, the National Symphony in Washington, D.C., the Boston, Chicago, Houston, and Toronto Symphony Orchestras, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Amsterdam, and the BBC Symphony Orchestra, among others. She is also a frequent guest at major music festivals around the world. She last performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Esa-Pekka Salonen in performances of BeethovenÂ's Symphony No. 9 in October 1993.



Her recent and upcoming engagements include JanácekÂ's Glagolitic Mass with the Berlin Philharmonic and Sir Simon Rattle, Donna Anna in a revival of Don Giovanni at the Stuttgart Opera, MahlerÂ's Symphony No. 8 with the Philharmonia Orchestra of London and Lorin Maazel, a new production of La traviata at the Cleveland Opera, concert performances of HindemithÂ's Mathis der Maler with the Swedish Radio Symphony and Esa-Pekka Salonen, and concerts of SchoenbergÂ's String Quartet No. 2 with the Stockholm Chamber Orchestra and Salonen at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.

Robinson has recorded TippettÂ's The Mask of Time with the BBC Symphony under Andrew Davis (EMI), TippettÂ's Symphony No. 3 with the Bournemouth Symphony under Richard Hickox (Chandos), the world premiere recording of TippettÂ's Byzantium with the Chicago Symphony under Sir Georg Solti, A Child of Our Time with Hickox (Chandos), and SchoenbergÂ's String Quartet No. 2 in its version for chamber orchestra with the Stockholm Chamber Orchestra and Esa-Pekka Salonen (Sony Classical). Her first solo recording, Remembering Marian Anderson, was released by the dÂ'Note label. Robinson is currently an artist in residence at the University of Arizona in Tucson.
