Posted By: latoya taylor on November 04, 2012 Glendora McIlwain Putnam graduated from Bennett College, named a "Living Legend" by the Museum of African American History, dedicated her career to civil rights law. Putnam's work includes serving as assistant attorney general for civil rights in Massachusetts, as chair of the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, and was named national president of the YWCA, which strives to eliminate racism and empower women. "That was my goal, to get rid of segregation and discrimination in all areas of operation. That's why I went to law school.
