Bethune-Cookman Regains Top Spot in FCS Poll - Winston-Salem Stays Perfect

The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats regained the top spot in the Heritage Sports Radio Network (HSRN) Division I-FCS Poll, while the Rams of Winston-Salem State remained unbeaten and atop the HSRN Division II Poll.

For the first time since September 24th, since their loss to Tennessee State, Bethune-Cookman (8-2) regained the top spot in the HSRN Division I-FCS poll with their 24-13 win over Morgan State. Arkansas-Pine Bluff (7-2) moved into the Poll's second spot with their convincing 49-3 win at Texas Southern. Tennessee State (8-2), which had held the number one spot for six weeks, dropped to third place after their 49-28 to Murray State. Alabama State (5-3) moved up to fourth, from sixth, with their 35-21 win at Prairie View and Alabama A&M (8-2) held solid at number five after outlasting Southern 24-23 in overtime.

North Carolina Central (6-3) moved from seventh to sixth place, with their 23-20 double overtime win over Delaware State (5-4) who slipped to ninth place after the loss. Howard (6-3) eased to seventh, ahead of North Carolina A&T (5-4). South Carolina State (4-4), who was idle this week, held the number ten spot to round out the Top Ten.

In the Division II Poll, Winston-Salem State (10-0) maintained their hold on the top spot with their 41-8 win at Fayetteville State. Tuskegee (8-1) and Ft. Valley State (8-2) moved up one spot to second and third, from third and fourth respectively. Tuskegee downed the previously second ranked Miles Bears (8-2), who slipped to fourth, by a 27-17 score. Ft. Valley notched a 38-20 win over Albany State (6-4) who was previously ranked at number six and fell to eighth.

Elizabeth City State (7-3) held on to fifth place with their 14-13 win at Bowie State.



The Chowan Hawks (6-4) rose one spot to sixth after a 35-19 win over Lincoln (PA). St. Augustine's (6-4) moved to seventh place after they rallied to beat cross-town rival Shaw 43-42 on the last play of their game. Johnson C. Smith (6-4) maintained their spot at number nine with their 57-6 thrashing of Livingstone and Langston (OK) (5-4) rounds out the Top Ten with their 21-7 win over Southwest Assemblies of God.

This weekend, on November 10th, the Heritage Radio Sports Network (HSRN) will be on hand to broadcast the CIAA Championship Game from the Durham County Stadium in Durham, NC. The game between the respective CIAA Southern and Northern Division Champions Winston-Salem State (10-0) and Elizabeth City State (7-3), scheduled to kick-off at 1:00 PM ET with HSRN's pre-game broadcast beginning at 12 PM. HSRN's broadcast can be heard by tuning to SiriusXM satellite radio (Sirius- 128, XM-205) or on the internet at HSRN.COM or you mobile app - Tunein.com.
