Lecturer in Kinesiology

The University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks applicants to fill the position of Lecturer in Kinesiology. Responsibilities include: assist with undergraduate teaching responsibilities in the area of health, fitness and wellness; work with a dynamic and engaged faculty to deliver a contemporary kinesiology curriculum using team-based and experiential learning concepts; expand, lead and manage our growing undergraduate student internship program; and serve on department, school and university committees, as appropriate. This position is a non-tenure track, nine-month appointment, starting September, 2013; two-year renewable contract. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.


Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field, and experience working in the field of health and wellness in a corporate, commercial, clinical, or community setting. College teaching experience preferred and ACSM, NSCA or equivalent certification is desirable.


The nationally-ranked University of Massachusetts Department of Kinesiology (http://www.umass.edu/sphhs/kinesiology/) offers an interdisciplinary approach to the study of human movement through investigation of its mechanical, neurological, biochemical, molecular, physiological and behavioral components. The Department currently serves over 750 undergraduate majors, 40 M.S. and Ph.D.



graduate students, with 13 tenure track faculty, 3 full-time lecturers, 1 part-time research faculty member, and 6 post-doctoral fellows.
