Instructor, Health and Wellness Promotion (Deadline Extended)

Posted By: How May I Help You NC on January 25, 2013 The College of Lake County is currently searching for a full time health and wellness promotion faculty member to be housed in the Biological and Health Sciences division. Responsibilities for this position include teaching courses in the health and wellness promotion and physical education departments. Faculty member will be responsible for developing instructional materials including course plans, syllabi, objectives, laboratory activities and evaluation tools. This individual will also serve as the massage therapy department chair. In addition, faculty members are expected to hold regular office hours and participate in college governance and other aspects of academic life. Closing Date: 02-12-2013 Special Instructions to Applicants: Please attach a copy of your current national certification from ACSM, NSCA, NASM or an equivalent certifying organization. Please attach a copy of your current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association? This is a full-time tenure track, faculty position. Salary placement is commensurate with education and experience. The minimum 2013 - 2014 nine-month base salary ranges from $44,725 with a master's degree to $58,176 with a doctorate in the subject field. Optional contract for the summer session offers potential for significantly greater earnings. Because health insurance participation is mandatory for new faculty and health insurance premiums are deducted from the base salary, each new faculty member receives a flexible compensation allowance of $5,700 per academic year in addition to the base salary. This amount is intended to defray the cost of single medical insurance coverage. Faculty may be assigned to campuses other than Grayslake. This position will begin in the Fall Semester of 2013. Pay Rate: Per faculty contract. Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time Location: Multiple Campuses Hours Per Week: Fifteen (15) load hours and ten (10) office hours Work Schedule: Variable.
