Posted By: How May I Help You NC on January 29, 2013 The Dean is the chief academic and administrative officer of the College of Science and Engineering (CSE). Reporting to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean provides leadership for the College in strategic planning, budgeting, implementation of college and university policies, knowledge and experience with ABET and other accreditation and review processes; experience in recruiting, retaining and graduating STEM majors; strong support of faculty and student research opportunities; and a commitment to innovation in teaching and research, development of faculty and staff, fostering research, evaluation of faculty for reappointment, tenure and promotion, academic program review and accreditation. In addition to major gift procurement, fundraising and development activities, administration of sponsored programs including externally funded grants and contracts, administration of off-campus academic programs and relationships with the college’s professional advisory board. The Dean will work collaboratively with the Deans Council and members of the President’s cabinet to achieve the goals and objectives of the University. The Dean is responsible for aligning college activity with the mission and values of the University. The College of Science and Engineering was created in fall 2011. It is comprised of ten degree programs and four academic departments: Department of Manufacturing Engineering, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Department of Natural Sciences, and the Department of Water Resources Management. The Degree programs include: Manufacturing Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science; Industrial Technology; Biology and Chemistry; Environmental Engineering, Geography, Geology and Water Resources Management. The College houses three Centers: International Center for Water Resources Management; Ohio Center of Excellence for Emerging Technologies; and the Center of Excellence for STEM and STEM Education (STEM-X-ED).
