Posted By: How May I Help You NC on January 29, 2013 Job ID: 7077 Location: College of Staten Island Full/Part Time: Full-Time Regular/Temporary: Regular GENERAL DUTIES: Develops and administers wellness programs and communications to serve student needs - Works with colleagues in various departments to coordinate, develop and implement wellness programs, workshops, and activities - Conduct assessments and need analysis relative to the wellness needs of students and tracks progress - Prepares and administers surveys, statistical data and reports relative to the physical/wellness needs of students - May maintain websites and produce written materials to promote student wellness related activities - Performs related duties as assigned. Job Title Name: Student Wellness Specialist CONTRACT TITLE: Higher Education Assistant FLSA: Exempt CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION: The College's faculty, administration, and staff are committed to educational excellence as they instill in students an enduring love of learning and respect for pluralism and diversity. The College community recognizes its responsibility to strive for the common good, including an informed appreciation for the interdependence of all people, as well as providing students with the opportunities for successful future careers. Reporting to the Student Health Services Director, the Student Wellness Specialist is responsible for the following: - Develops and promotes a comprehensive campus-wide wellness and health education program designed to improve the health and academic performance of students. - Delivers public health, disease prevention and wellness programming on a variety of priority college health topics including but not limited to: sexual health, tobacco cessation, substance abuse prevention, sleep, influenza education, wellness and mental health matters. - Assists with daily supervision of Wellness/Drop-in Center, including oversight and training of peer health educators and graduate student employees in implementing primary job responsibilities. - Provides referrals, assessments and health counseling to individuals and targeted groups of students. - Assists in the development of a comprehensive model for assessing health services.
