Posted By: How May I Help You NC on February 01, 2013 The Madeira School is one of the country's premier girls boarding/day schools with a century of serving the needs of a wide variety of young women from around the country and the world. Located just outside of Washington, DC, on the banks of the Potomac River, Madeira enrolls 315 students in grades 9-12. The Madeira School is currently seeking a Program Manager within our Co-Curriculum Department. Co-Curriculum, has provided internships for students similar to those offered at colleges and universities. Through internships in business, politics, and social services, the Co-Curriculum program gives students a greater awareness of community and global needs/opportunities. The experience gained in the internships becomes an extension of the academic program. Under the general, technical, and administrative supervision of the Director of Co-Curriculum, and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the Program Manager’s responsibilities include tasks in Co-Curriculum and Global Immersion. Those tasks include, but are not limited to: •Developing systems for all communication, registration, departure, return and evaluation of the Global Immersion program •Serving as a partner to teachers in the program development and integration of the Global Immersion experiences and the other academic elements of the school •Lead liaison with parents, students and outfitters •Primary web content manager for all Global Immersion related content •Serve as a primary lead on the internship placement process one or more grade levels •Support the Co-Curriculum program by assisting the Director in varied and evolving capacities •Provide guidance to students to ensure a successful and meaningful internship experience •Serve as a liaison with students, parents and site supervisors •Monitor the success of the program through all constituents •Manage various elements of administration such as attendance, invoices, electronic files etc. •Help supervise students in a range of on-campus and off-campus situations Program Duties Annual Execution of Internship Placement oStudent Interface oResume development, distribution, storage Internship Placement oCoaching students towards developing the necessary skills needed for a successful placement oCultivating relationships with current and potential placement sites to increase the number and quality of offerings made to students Routine Execution of Global Immersion Program oFacilitating a range of tasks related to the successful launch and growth of the Global Immersion experience oBeing a public face for parents and students so as to assure a positive and successful Global experiences oDeveloping program/teaching ideas and activities for the integration of their immersion abroad and the academic week Administrative Tasks oWebsite maintenance oAccessing and managing student info oData Management oManaging the flow of contracts, registrations and funds from parents and travel outfitters Click this link to view and apply for this job!
