UAPB OL Terron Armstead runs crazy-fast 4.71 40-yard dash
|
Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on February 23, 2013 There isn't that much impressive about a 4.65 40-yard dash time. Unless you're an offensive lineman, anyway, which explains why everyone at the 2013 NFL Combine is abuzz over Arkansas-Pine Bluff offensive lineman Terron Armstead. That's because Armstead, who stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 306 pounds, cranked out a pair of eye-popping numbers, running a 4.65 and 4.71 40-yard dash. However, as often is the case, Armstead's time went up after the official number was posted -- and Armstead finished with an official 40 time of 4.71. That's cooking, y'all. "I've been blessed with a unique skill-set," Armstead said via Dane Brugler of NFLDraftScout.com. "I'm extremely light on my feet for a big guy, I have to say. It's a blessing." Simply put, he's fast. Of course, we already knew this -- the NFLDraftScout.com guys predicted Armstead would "dazzle in workouts" this year. He's doing just that. And he's also likely pushing his stock north quickly. Projected as the 10th overall tackle by our rankings and a third-round pick, Armstead is doing himself some favors. Nothing says Saturday morning like watching gigantic lineman sprint around in their skivvies. But no matter what you think of the offensive lineman portion of the combine, you'd be hard pressed to hate on Armstead.
