Miller Named Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Posted By: How May I Help You NC on February 27, 2013 Courtesy SWAC.org Birmingham, Ala. - The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Grambling State University guard, Joanna Miller, as its SWAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Miller (Los Angeles, Calif.) captures her second weekly honor after being named player of the week on February 6. The 5'8 - junior helped GSU split two games during the week. She averaged 21.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. From the field, she connected 50 percent of her shots, including 54 percent from three-point range. In a 62-60 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Miller recorded 10 points and nine rebounds to help GSU end a three-game skid. In the following match-up against Mississippi Valley State, she led all scorers with 32 points while hauling in six boards. Despite the 84-64 loss, she hit 10-of-17 from the floor and 4-of-8 from long range. It was the second time on the season Miller scored 32 points.
