Posted By: Will Moss on April 02, 2013 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 01, 2013 CONTACT: Daniel C. Moss HBCU CONNECT, LLC, 614.416.5517 dmoss@hbcuconnect.com HBCU CONNECT, the largest website chronicling the lifestyle and achievements of alumni and students of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and the largest HBCU brand in history along with Microsoft's Server & Tools Division, teamed up last week to host a successful professional networking and recruiting event at the famous Shula's Steakhouse in downtown Indianapolis. The National Society of Black Engineer's (NSBE) annual Conference and Diversity Career Expo, which attracts thousands of African American professionals and students in the areas of Engineering and Computer Science, served as the backdrop to the successful networking reception, which is but one part of a multi-year partnership between HBCU CONNECT & Microsoft to help the premiere global software brand further diversify its ranks by targeting and attracting a pipeline of top-tier HBCU alumni and student talent from HBCUs and certain key professional African American events HBCU CONNECT produces, or is involved in. "We wanted to provide a platform for Microsoft to engage their ideal candidate on a personal, intimate level, which we felt would help bringing the brand and associated career opportunities 'down-to-earth' so to speak, for our potential recruits. According to post event follow up, we accomplished just that", offers Will Moss, Founder & CEO of HBCUConnect.com. Continues Moss: "It's no secret how rigorous Microsoft's hiring process is, but it's also well understood that the right talent is out there if companies are truly committed to finding it and we thought this event provided a great way for the largest HBCU brand, the greatest software brand and some of the best tech talent to connect, with the end result being quantifiable hires". Through partnerships like this, HBCU CONNECT has been able to grow its range of recruitment services beyond job postings, resume sourcing, banner ads and email blasts, to also include candidate pre-screening and sourcing, as well as job fairs and boutique professional networking events.
