Wanted: Global Innovators To Help Us Build Tomorrow’s Enterprise As a Consultant, you will be a key player in the consulting team that helps discover and define the problem statement, evaluates the solution options and makes recommendations. You will create detailed design, architecture and process artifacts and implement the deployment plan. You will also support knowledge transfer with the objective of providing value-adding consulting solutions that enable our clients to meet the changing needs of the global landscape. Location for this position is LA, CA. This position may require travel DBA & SQL Tuning Expert: The ‘development DBA and SQL tuning expert’ is a key role responsible for ensuring system performance is well within the defined limits and addresses performance bottlenecks by optimizing SQLs and making schema changes. Also administers and maintains development databases and provides support to development teams to ensure all SQLs have optimal execution. The ideal candidate has a strong hands-on experience in SQL tuning on large OLTP databases, is familiar with Siebel development environment, and is analytical and detailed oriented. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast paced environment, working with designers, managers, SQA teams and Operations. • Evaluates impacts of the SQL on overall system performance and provides solutions for optimization • Tune SQLs developed by development team (manual tuning) to ensure optimal execution • Analyze and recommend schema changes for optimal database performance • Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues in multiple environments (such as development and SQA). Also to provide assistance in resolving performance issues in production database • Manage multiple Oracle 10g databases in development environment including administration and maintenance • Develop, maintain and execute scripts for large scale data extraction, transition and loading • Develop, maintain and execute data archiving and purging scripts, procedures and shell scripts • Data modeling using Erwin • Support development, SQA and Operations teams during production deployments • Analyze current operational procedures, identify problems and recommend solutions for optimization Applicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa (H1b or otherwise). Desired Skills & Experience Required • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required. Will also consider one year of relevant work experience in lieu of every year of education.” • At least 5 years of experience with • 5+ years of experience in SQL tuning and 3-5 years of experience in database administration • Comprehensive knowledge of Oracle data dictionary • Experience on SQL loader and data pump • Familiarity with AWR analysis • Hands-on experience on PL/SQL programming • Proven track record of SQL tuning on large OLTP databases • Ability to work with multiple teams in a fast paced environment • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a group setting. Consistent and proper communication to management and team is a crucial factor that contributes to the success of the team • Good organizational skills Preferred • At least 5 years of experience in creating requirement specifications based on Architecture/Design /Detailing of Processes • At least 5 years of experience in skills mentioned above • At least 3 years of experience in Development/ Configuration/solutions evaluation/ Validation and deployment • At least 3 years of experience in capturing requirements related to internal/external consulting, documenting, and mapping current business process • Analytical and Communication skills • Planning and Co-ordination skills • Experience with project management • Experience and desire to work in a management consulting environment that requires regular travel About Us Infosys is a leading provider of next-generation consulting, technology and outsourcing solutions.
