Eastern Illinois University Job Opportunity: Assistant Director for Academic Services

Posted By: How May I Help You NC on June 24, 2013 Eastern Illinois University an NCAA Division I member of the Ohio Valley Conference is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Director for Academic Services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Advising and mentoring student-athletes on the football, softball, women’s soccer, and men’s and women’s tennis teams; monitoring student-athlete academic progress; assisting in conducting study halls, study skills workshops and assisting with the tutoring program. Assist in performing academic needs assessment to student-athletes prior to each academic semester to identify high risk students. Assist in coordinating student development efforts of the Academic Services unit including working with student-athlete advisory committee, educational workshops, and the Eastern Panthers in the Community (EPIC) program. Applicant must be able and willing to work evenings and some weekends. The position requires the adherence to all rules and regulations of Eastern Illinois University, the conference and the NCAA. The position is full-time with benefits. Candidate must be willing to relocate. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred; preference will be given to applicants with experience working with a diverse student population in a Division I Academic Support Unit. Additional qualifications include excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact professionally within the department, the campus and community.
