Eastern Illinois University Job Opportunity: Night Circulation Librarian/Instructor

Posted By: How May I Help You NC on June 24, 2013 Position Available: Eastern Illinois University’s Booth Library is seeking a librarian, to serve as an annually-contracted faculty member at the level of instructor, for night and weekend hours. Responsibilities: Reporting to the head of Circulation Services, the individual will have supervisory responsibilities over public service desks and personnel. Requirements: Candidate must possess an ALA-accredited MLS. Prefer candidates with good planning and organizational skills, a dedication to public service, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Terms of Appointment and Salary: This is an annually contracted, 12-month faculty position. Annual increases in salary are defined by a collective bargaining agreement, and include evaluation in the areas of teaching/primary duties, research and creative activity, and service. The minimum salary for appointment at the rank of Instructor is $46,236. Starting Date: Proposed starting date is August 20, 2013, negotiable. The Library: Booth Library is located in the heart of Eastern Illinois University’s campus and contains over a million cataloged volumes. A comprehensive program of Library Services is offered to students, faculty and citizens of Illinois. References services is staffed by seven librarians and four support staff, and consists of reference, library instruction, government documents, and a teachers center. www.library.eiu.edu The University Community: Eastern Illinois University places priority on teaching excellence for a quality student body in a residential setting.
