Posted By: How May I Help You NC on July 17, 2013 Creative Housing is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing safe, accessible and affordable housing to individuals with disabilities in the Columbus metropolitan area. Since 1992, Creative Housing has earned national recognition in involving people with disabilities in the development of a wide range of housing options from single family homes and duplexes to small apartment buildings. More recently, Creative Housing has begun to modify homes for accessibility for people with disabilities and also the elderly. Our website provides up to date information on the wide range of housing and renovation programs that make up the Creative Housing network. Creative Housing is now accepting applications for the Field Maintenance Technician: Job Duties: 1. Read blueprints, specifications, complex instructions and follow diagrams. 2. Work effectively in varying environments and meet deadlines and quotas. 3. Receive work orders via home based fax or pick up daily in the office at CHI. 4. Schedule work orders, travel, and supply runs in the most efficient/effective manner possible. 5. Complete all work to meet CHI Construction Standards. 6. Collaborate with outside vendors through overlapping CHI projects. 7. Perform general concrete/masonry duties including but not limited to excavating and grading earth, demolish existing concrete, form and place and finish flush and elevated interior and exterior concrete. 8. Perform rough and finish carpentry duties including, but not limited to: conventional wood framing, installation of doors and windows, installation of siding, fascia and soffits (vinyl, wood and/or composite), and installation of casework and interior trim. 9. Perform plumbing duties including but not limited to: repairing and/or replacing hot water tanks, replacing shower diverters and sweating copper and fixtures. Operating and maintaining company main drain power snake for clearing the drain from the stack to the main sewer. Make emergency repairs to supply drain and waste vent pipe. 10. Perform minor electrical repairs. Including but not limited to: changing light fixtures, changing three way light switches, replacing outlets and relocating new 220 lines. Modify both line and low voltage. 11. Perform other duties including, but not limited to: installation of insulation and drywall, and installation of hardware and specialty items. 12.
