Posted By: How May I Help You NC on July 17, 2013 POSITION SUMMARY: Design, develop and maintain programs to support and supplement Duke University SAP NetWeaver administrative systems, operations, and procedures. Analyze data, processes, and programs to ensure effective implementation, revision, and continued operation of administrative application systems. DUTIES AND WORK PERFORMED: Analyze business operations, procedures, and functions, organizational structures, data collection forms and methods, workflow, and audit requirements to determine suitability for automated data processing methods. Document technical specifications for data processing requirements to include: narratives; data elements; data gathering and verification; accounting, auditing, and security requirements. Articulate computer program design using block diagrams, flow charts, decision tables, input/output requirements, record and form layouts. Design, develop, test, and implement approved programs, including reports, interfaces, and data conversions. Adhere to and enforce software development methodology on projects for consistent results. Follow departmental procedures for the preparation, execution, and validation of change control documentation. Test and debug programs to verify accuracy and completeness. Design and execute user acceptance testing and procedures. Maintain, tune and repair applications in order to keep them performing according to technical and functional specifications; perform preventive maintenance activities; provide user support. Communicate and coordinate with business decision makers to ensure accurate understanding and acceptance. Prepare and maintain forms, documentation, and manuals as needed for effective implementation, maintenance, and continued operation of applications. Prepare and participate in user training and education as needed. Maintain communication with other University data processing operations, professional organizations, vendors, and user groups to ensure ongoing technical competence, evolution, and innovation. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. This describes the general nature and level of work performed by individuals in this classification. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Education: BA or BS (Computer Scienceor related field preferred) or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Experience and Technical Skills: ABAP programming language Batch Input programming SAPScript Data Transfer Workbench Report Painter Business Objects BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits Business Workflow Java, Netweaver Developer Studio WebDynpro, Java and ABAP, BSP Gentran Mapper HR/Payroll; Materials Management # Purchasing, Material Management # Inventory Management; Financial Accounting # General Ledger; Financial Accounting # Asset Management; Financial Accounting # Funds Management; Financial Accounting # Project System; Controlling # Profit Center Accounting; Controlling # Cost Center Accounting Experience in networked, multi-platform environment UNIX (AIX preferred) skills/knowledge Common PC and networked applications, programming languages Knowledge of legacy and feeder systems and platforms SQL, Oracle database, skills/knowledge Soft Skills: Time management and organization Communication: verbal and written, technical and non-technical Analysis and evaluation Teamwork Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
