Pennsylvania State University Job Opening: Assistant Director for Penn States Geospatial Intelligence Programs
Posted By: How May I Help You NC on July 19, 2013  Assistant Director for Penn States Geospatial Intelligence Programs The John A. Dutton e-Education Institute and the Department of Geography at The Pennsylvania State University (University Park campus) invites applications for a full time, non-tenured faculty position to serve as Assistant Director for Penn State’s online professional education programs in Geospatial Intelligence, offered by the Department of Geography. This is a one-year fixed-term appointment with excellent possibility of re-funding. Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant. As Assistant Director, you will be expected to provide program leadership, teach online classes in geospatial intelligence, advise and/or mentor graduate students, and participate in externally funded GIScience research in GIS, remote sensing, and/or intelligence analysis. Opportunities for a successful applicant may include working with private and public sector partners on professional education projects. Teaching responsibilities will be in the online intercollege Master of Professional Studies in Homeland Security (iMPS) program and the Graduate Certificate in Geospatial Intelligence, with opportunity to teach in other Penn State programs based on interest and expertise. This position is located at the University Park campus and will be appointed to the John A. Dutton e-Education Institute. Requirements include a Doctorate in Geography, Information Science, Anthropology, or a related discipline. Experience in an organization providing geospatial intelligence, intelligence education, or intelligence analysis is desired. The individual must have the capability to acquire a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance. Wounded Warriors are encouraged to apply.
