Position Details Department: 051361 - Office of Sponsored Programs Position: 00013655 - Grant Developer Grade or Band: 3RD Job Description The Grant Developer is responsible for identifying funding opportunities for various faculties across Boston College. The position will work closely with Faculty at all stages in their research careers, and will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities and matching them to various faculties areas of expertise and research. This position will be responsible for assisting the faculty, where needed, in editing, mentoring, and other activities with the goal to significantly increase the proposals potential for funding. Essential functions include conducting research on different areas of grants-making to identify new funding opportunities, establishing and maintaining working relationships with directors and staff of Centers and Institutes as well as the Schools at Boston College, in an effort to recognize and seek out targeted funding opportunities, coordinae or provide assistance in technical reporting, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness of information, continuiously developing methods for expanding funding by attending relevant professional meetings, and community awareness meetings, researches and assists in the production of fundraising materials, including case statements, white papers, correspondence, cover letters, outreach letters, letters of intent and inquiry, and other requires materials, establish collaborative working relationships with BC's administrative offices charged with elevating the research enterprise, and especially with Corporate and Foundation Relations in University Advancement, conduct workshops or training sessions and create resources to share with faculty. Requirements *BA/BS degree required. *4-6 years of grant writing experience with focus on federal sources such as NIH, NSF, DOD and DOE is a must. *Must be goal oriented, deadline driven with excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. *Attention to detail and a respect for confidentiality a must. *Strong go-getter attitude and ability to work independently with a proven track record in the field is required.
