GOD HAS A STANDARD!

Amazingly, like everything else, I just happen upon by way of my worldly thinking, I would view it to be a coincidence. However, in choosing to now view everything as with the reference or presence of God, this discovery was not by coincidence, but a divine intervention, happen stance by God or a move of GOD; HIM ordering my steps and directing me on a path of knowledge and understanding according to HIS will or plan for obtaining HIS wisdom. If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God {Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him. ~ James 1:5 [Amplified Version] When I was much younger, a word I use to hear quite often was “STANDARD.” Then later, as I began to incorporate more vocabulary, I learned it was and is somewhat interchangeable or goes hand-in-hand with ethics or morals (morality). There use to be a number of discussions or school topics surrounding the word morality and/or immorality, but in our current day and time, this seems to be a thing of the past. We have double standards with no clear reference for right or wrong. In fact, many people tend to develop their sense of or definition for a standard as seeking to follow the crowd or the most popular in obtaining their foundation for truth. Using the crowd as a form of example in adapting your standard could cause you to change quite frequently as with the wind thus leaving you out in the cold, confused and turned all around with nowhere to go. Have you ever noted how easy it is for people to devise rules and regulations as being an agreed upon standard in which to follow only to break them at will as they make up more rules and standards as they go? Why not formulate a plan which incorporates standards, rules, regulations, processes, etc. and stick to them while holding each person accountable in governing how things should be done? And HE raised us up together with HIM and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with HIM] in the heavenly spere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One). ~ James 1:6 [Amplified Version] It is truly wonderful to know God is not a man like any other man that HE should lie or change with the wind. HE is the same yesterday, today, always and forever more. HE is no respecter of persons. [Acts 10:34] HE does not nor does HE expect us to engage in an act of favoritism. [James 2:9; also see Exodus 23:1-3, Leviticus 19:15 and 1 Timothy 5:21-23] God has an unchangeable standard that HE wants and expects us to aspire towards. HE does not nor will HE lower HIS standard for us. HE will make an attempt to reach you where you are in encouraging you and teaching you to come up to HIS standard. HE lets you know exactly what HE expects and will never leave you guessing. Set up a standard or signal [to spread the news] upon the walls of Babylon! Make the watch and blockade strong, set the guards, prepare the ambushes! For the LORD has both proposed and done that which HE spoke against the inhabitants of Babylon. ~ James 1:12 [Amplified Version] Definition for STANDARD: Universally or widely accepted, agreed upon, or established means of determining what something should be. 1. Something considered by an authority or by general consent as a basis of comparison; an approved model. 2. An object that is regarded as the usual or most common size or form of its kind: We stock the deluxe models as well as the standards. 3. A rule or principle that is used as a basis for judgment: They tried to establish standards for a new philosophical approach. 4. An average or normal requirement, quality, quantity, level, grade, etc.: His work this week hasn't been up to his usual standard. 5. Standards, those morals, ethics, habits, etc., established by authority, custom, or an individual as acceptable: He tried to live up to his father's standards. God is true to HIS WORD! HE honors every promise and does not renege on any of them. [So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it. ~Isaiah 55:11] HE does not say one thing and does another. HE is not an “Indian Giver.” HE does not bless you with a gift and then takes it back because you failed to obey HIM. However, should you fall outside of HIS WILL in being disobedient and unrighteous (practicing sin) thus conforming to the way of the world in becoming big headed or puffed-up [1 Corinthians 4:18], that gift will become tainted and diluted. It will no longer work to the fullness of God’s glory in meeting HIS STANDARD to the effectiveness of HIS POWER. As children of the MOST HIGH GOD, those who are chosen and called, we must be doers and hearers of the word as we follow CHRIST and not man. We must keep our focus on God regardless of what is going on around us. Being careful not to be deceived by the world or unfaithful to the ways of God. We have to stop straddling the fence and make a conscious effort to be the person God has created us to be in HIM and us in HIM. Raise up your standard to meet HIS! Let’s get back to where we are called and perform the works of the LORD to glorify God.
