PAST HURTS AND PAIN CAN BE ETERNAL!

If your heart is broken, you’ll find GOD right there; if you’re kicked in the gut, he’ll help you catch your breath. ~ Psalm 34:18 [The Message (MSG)]

The below email entitled, “DON’T LET PAST HURTS, PAINS, AND ABUSE BLOCK GOD’S BLESSINGS FOR YOU” was received from a friend (Ronnita Lyons)> It most definitely hit home for me. Have you ever taken into consideration how deeply people love and how deeply they hurt. To the same degree that you love with passion, you can easily hurt to that same degree with passion. Each person in this world is wired differently. Meaning, we each process information, pain and hurt differently. No two people may love or hurt to the same degree. Meaning, each person’s tolerance for dealing with nonsense, people, pain, hurt and pleasure is different. It’s like being fully equipped with a thermometer and each person’s reading or temperature is different. No one can predict or tell you just how long it should take for you to get over a certain situation and move past it. They have no idea of the impact a trial, tribulation or your struggles may have a hold on you. Or just how deeply a situation may gnaw away at you. In a nutshell, that’s the definition of a stronghold. It catches hold of you for dear life with no intent of ever letting you go! But, you can break free with the right determination and motivation!

David was visited later by Gad the prophet.
Gad (to David): Do not stay here in the stronghold.
Leave here, and go to the land of the tribe of Judah.
So David left that place and went into the forest of Hereth.
~ 1 Samuel 22:5 [The Voice]

According to http://wiki.answers.com, the Greek word for stronghold literally means a fortress. Put another way, strongholds are walls or fortresses around beliefs and emotions to protect us from further pain. Or it can also very easily be false truths (beliefs) engineered to keep us in a backsliding state or bondage. If we refuse to get free and let go of those false truths, our strongholds can prove to be very damaging and debilitating to our survival; the difference between life and death. An important part of our healing and the transformation of our deep-rooted wounds from pain and hurt, requires an act of divinely pulling down those strongholds.

First, we must be willing to take a long hard objective look (examine) at ourselves to include each and every situation we are battling with in our lives. Second, as if looking under a microscope or magnifying glass, we must be willing to admit we have some things (faults) that need to be addressed. Third, we must be willing to face our fears or spiritual demons of self-doubt, self-centeredness, shame, pride, rejection, lust, etc. Fourth, we must be open and honest with ourselves and others regardless of how they may wish to perceive us. Because, at the end of the day, it is not about them. It is about you and GOD! It is about you getting free and staying free. It is about you becoming whole and healed from all that threatens to destroy you. It is about you knowing just who to trust and who can help you release, relate, relearn, grow, conquer and soar! It is about you developing a relationship with the one true person in this world who loves you far greater than any living soul; including your mother, father, sister or brother.

For no temptation (no trial regarded as enticing to sin), [no matter how it comes or where it leads] has overtaken you and laid hold on you that is not common to man [that is, no temptation or trial has come to you that is beyond human resistance and that is not adjusted and adapted and belonging to human experience, and such as man can bear]. But God is faithful [to His Word and to His compassionate nature], and He [can be trusted] not to let you be tempted and tried and assayed beyond your ability and strength of resistance and power to endure, but with the temptation He will [always] also provide the way out (the means of escape to a landing place), that you may be capable and strong and powerful to bear up under it patiently.
~ 1 Corinthians 10:13 [The Amplified]

With God, anything is possible! HE does not want to see us hurt and in pain. In fact, when we hurt, HE hurts. HE wants nothing but the best for us. HE wants us free from harm and danger. HE wants us strong and on the mend. HE wants us delivered from the strongholds that bind us. HE wants us full of joy and free from depression. HE wants us to lean on HIM and break free from the chains of oppression. HE does not want us to give in or to give up! HE wants us to be transformed through the renewing of our minds. HE does not want us to wallow in self-pity. HE does not want us to be ashamed by guilt. And HE has not given us a SPIRIT of fear. So, get up and stand up! Don’t be weighted down! Shake the dust off! Move forward and walk towards your destiny. Reach for God! HE’s waiting for you! HE said HE would never leave you nor forsake you. HE is willing to walk with you if you are willing to walk with HIM. TRUST HIM and let HIM see you through! Leap towards eternal life and joy void of pain into the loving arms of your FATHER!

I can do all things through
Christ which strengtheneth me.
~ Philippians 4:13

DON’T LET PAST HURTS, PAINS, AND ABUSE BLOCK GOD’S BLESSINGS FOR YOU

“…We have all had our share of hurts, pain, physical or mental abuse, being lied on, taken advantage of, having people borrow money and not return it. My message to you is this: “It’s not what people do to you that blocks God’s blessing for you, it’s the attitude and behavior you adopt for yourself because of what other have done to you.” These undeserving and unwarranted life experiences cause you to develop calluses on your soul, a wall around your heart, blinders over your eyes, and a spirit of deafness when it comes to hearing what God is saying to you.

When you allow hurts, pains, and disappointments put the words “NEVER AGAIN WILL I” upon your lips and in your spirit, you have closed your ears to God. You have decided you are in charge of your life henceforth and forevermore. I hear people say, “I am always the one giving and helping others, and nobody ever gives to me.” Let me pause and preach a little bit. You have got it twisted. This should not be a “Complaint,” but a “Praise.” You ought to be thanking and praising God that you are the blessed one. You are the blessed one because you are able to be the Joseph in the time of famine. You had better hush your mouth from complaining and open your mouth for praising. Somebody needs to say AMEN!

If you are the one who is always giving and always helping, can’t you see that you are the blessed one? You are blessed when you are the lender and not the borrower. When you are blessed, be it with money, time, or talent, you are required to share. The Holy Bible tells us that “To whom much is given, much is required.” So, shut your mouth and stop leading the complaint team and join the “Praise Team. …” Dr. Rosie Milligan
