Hello, I am planning to attend school in the Spring. There was a few things I needed to clear. At my campus tour in August I was able to solve some of my questions. But I didn't quite get why I was unable to start fresh at the HBCU.

When I attended college 7 years ago my spouse signed for a student loan to pay one semester's fee at the University of Akron. I was a C student there. I returned to UA for one Summer semester on scholarship (no room or food). I would of been a C student, but I was one day late with withdrawing any courses so I failed a Science class. I registered for 12 credit hours in the summer!?!

I didn't like that at UA. So I came back to Mansfield and got accepted at North Central State College for the following Fall term, everything was paid for by scholarship (no room or food). I was A and B student there.

Managing money on a budget was trying for me as a collegian student. I was between education, sports, home and wanting the "good life". Not only every time there was an option for me to make money, which I knew education was not going to turn into dollars quickly, but my heart was not into money. Guess I was misdirected when I first went into a college career. It was not my idea.
So to fulfill my passion at Columbus State Community College I needed a Real Estate Certificate. Something that wouldn't take long to get, I could get in the market, I can sale anybody a house!, take my share, would not be a "Starving Artist" and could enjoy my time prospering as a student. I failed the Financial Class there.

It been over 3 years ago since I was in a college program.

But the time was used wise enough so that for me I could broaden my awareness, do a lot of reading, make some money, and stay healthy. I have seen how its done now.

Parents, Scholarships, Grants, Work-Study, Rent Parties, Fundraisers, Financial Aid, Internships, Donations, Philanthropy, Rewards, and Refunds. As a college student these forms of payments, if they are not totally ensured, in one's thinking of success, for financial security, it does create insufficiency for the poorest of a student and possibly his/her ability to connect with other outside resources. You know.

I feel more dedicated than anxious in my heart toward this struggle of mine. So I am emailing you to give me some encouragement in my next move. If I am not eligible for a Fresh Start thought would mean I would have to use my accumulated GPA for scholarship benefits which for most I see a 2.5 or 2.8 requirement and even though I passed some course and some not, that are or aren't necessary courses for my African Study major. If I am not eligible, then sending my transcripts would make me a almost a junior in the Spring. Its unfortunate the way in which this path of education and know-how has been conserved.

One thing for sure is I am open to any considerations. A staff said to me that involvement with activities of the school would help my anticipation of the future. Not in those words but she knew what I was saying. She wanted me to speak with someone in the Financial Aid Office on my tour, but everyone was leaving for the evening. I could not stay anywhere without reservation(s).

If this message reaches you well post me back.
