College of Lake County Hot Job: Graphic Designer

Posted By: How May I Help You NC on March 12, 2014 Under the supervision of the Senior Visual Communications Manager, the Graphic Designer is responsible for conceptualizing, designing and producing visual components for the college’s print communications and marketing materials, from concept to completion. Though the Graphic Designer is assigned project design, the position also executes the production of creative concepts developed the Senior Visual Communications Manager or freelancers. The Graphic Designer works collaboratively within a creative PR and Marketing department and with internal college clients and printers. On occasion, the position may also assist in developing graphics for use on the college website to assist in integrating print and web communications. 1. Conceptualizes, designs and prepares for files for print production in multiple formats, integrating text and images using established principles of effective graphic design and typography and in accordance with the college’s brand standards. Typical projects include fliers/posters, brochures, advertisements, direct mail and booklets. 2. As assigned, executes the production of creative concepts developed by the Senior Visual Communications Manager or freelancers. 3. On occasion, supports the department’s web team by producing graphics for e-blasts, icons and other visual content for the web. 4. Assists the Senior Visual Communications Manager in working with college departments to incorporate and maintain the college’s brand identity standards. 5. Prepares files for press, approves proofs and archives projects. 6. Creates PDFs and scanned images. 7. Performs other duties as assigned.
