Lark Theatre Hot Job: Arts Administration Apprenticeships
|
Posted By: How May I Help You NC on May 12, 2014 The program provides aspiring arts professionals with a season-long residency at the Lark. The apprenticeships are designed to serve as a bridge between an educational setting and the professional world by providing firsthand experience in the Lark process, training and experience in arts administration, a greater knowledge of the inner workings of an arts organization and exposure to models of positive, collaborative professionals. Throughout the season apprentices will have the opportunity to attend (approximately) weekly gatherings or workshops with their fellow apprentices and an invited industry guest or Lark staff member as an opportunity to get to know, ask questions and learn from a diverse group of people working in theater. Apprentices will join Lark’s tightknit (9 full-time, 4 part-time employees) in pursuit of creating a collaborative, safe, and well-resourced environment for nurturing playwrights and plays. Each apprentice will join a particular department and be given significant and specific responsibilities within that department. Available positions include Communications, Development and Fundraising, Dramaturgy and General Management, Onsite Artistic Programs, Communications and Offsite Programs and Partnerships. Each apprentice is paired with a supervisor that makes sure the experience is educational and meaningful for both parties. Apprentices are expected to participate in as many Lark events as possible, to get to know the Lark community and to take advantage of the theatre’s offerings both within and outside of their department. HOW TO APPLY For more information see wwww.larktheatre.org. Applications for the 2014-15 season are due June 2, 2014.
