Posted By: How May I Help You NC on May 19, 2014 The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine has opened a search for the William Stewart Halsted Professor and Director [Chair] for the Department of Surgery. The new Director will be a distinguished physician with evidence of leadership qualities and outstanding achievements in clinical service, teaching, research and administration. The Department of Surgery is comprised of 131 full time faculty within its clinical and research divisions. The Department maintains NIH and industry funding, currently over $9M annually, and is strongly committed to conducting clinical, translational and basic research in surgery. The Department has a fully accredited residency program with a total complement of 84 resident and clinical fellow physicians. The Department provides clinical services at twelve locations in the Baltimore and the Washington D.C. area and treats over 48,000 patients annually.
