Nationally renowned ASU Microbiology Prof to Present NanoBiotechnology Seminar in England!
Posted By: How May I Help You NC on June 16, 2014

Dr. Shree R. Singh, director of Alabama State University’s Center for NanoBiotechnology Research (CNBR), has been invited to present a seminar this month on “The Emerging Field of NanoBiotechnology” at Aston University in England.

Singh, a professor of microbiology at ASU, created the CNBR in 2007. He has established global collaborations with many countries, including Argentina, Armenia, China, Ethiopia, India and the United Kingdom, and has helped secure more than $27 million in federal funding for the center. Singh has authored many original research articles in peer reviewed journals and has delivered numerous scientific presentations.

His recent research involves the field of nanobiotechnology, which uses novel nanomaterials to develop anti-viral molecules and nanosensors for the detection of microorganisms.

“This collaboration with Aston University has already begun to provide exposure abroad to summer research and educational opportunities for our students,” Singh said. “We expect this mutual effort to continue to provide research and educational opportunities for both ASU faculty and students, as well as to strengthen research capabilities and joint funding.”

Aston University is a leader in biomedical research with research areas including drug design, drug delivery, molecular biology, biotechnology and neurosciences. It is one of the Top 50 institutions in the world.
