ABOUT THE POSITION:

The position is responsible for activities relating to systems analysis and, program analysis, design, end-user training and assistance, and technical and user documentation for the college’s enterprise information system. The position includes but is not limited to the support, installation of updates and new functional development for PASSPORT (Web interface for Students, Faculty and Staff) and Higher Reach (Corporate and Community Training Offerings).

An employee in this position is expected to be experienced in application software development with strong business analysis skills and a variety of technical skills and a proven track record of acquiring and applying new technical skills. The employee is expected to work closely with all aspects of the college community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

• Manage/participate in projects in accordance with PSC IT Project management guidelines. Analyze existing or proposed college data systems to ensure IT investments are in alignment with PSC’s strategic mission/vision.
• Develop a thorough knowledge of the college's web based interface (PASSPORT) to the institutions ERP, GENESIS.
  
  
  
  
• Develop and update business functions using web based solutions in JAVA, JSP, XML and XSLT in the Tomcat environment on a Solaris platform.
• Develop a thorough knowledge of EntireX/Broker concepts, using Workbench to support the data exchange between the web environment and the institutions database, ADABAS.
• Develop and maintain web services to support the college’s web application using the standard institutional programming language NATURAL and utilize CONSTRUCT as needed.
• Create, modify, test and implement application software using specifications mandated by the State of Florida, the United States Government Agencies or designed in conjunction with the system Users.
• Implement periodic fixes (IRNs) annual updates (Ports) as related to the web enablement of the institutions ERP system, including but not limited to GENESIS and PASSPORT.
• Maintain the integrity of systems through problem detection, resolution and prevention techniques, including performance analysis and tuning, debugging and security design.
• Analyze application development tools, operating systems, databases and network infrastructure to create efficient, well-designed and easily maintainable systems.

This position is a level P12.
