Millet Named Stillman College President; Warrick in as Grambling State Interim

Posted By: How May I Help You NC on June 30, 2014 by Associated Press Peter Millet is taking over permanently as president of Stillman College as the sixth president of the historically Black school in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Stillman, who has been interim president since last fall, replaces Ernest McNealy, who stepped down last year after being placed on leave. Stillman has an undergraduate enrollment of about 1,000 students. In other HBCU governance news, the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors voted Friday to name Cynthia Warrick as interim president of Grambling State University. The appointment takes effect Tuesday. Warrick, a pharmacist who has worked in higher education for 16 years, takes over while the board searches for a permanent president. Frank Pogue is retiring from the job at the end of June. Previously, Warrick has worked as interim president at South Carolina State University; dean and chief research officer at Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina; associate professor and director of environmental and occupational health at Florida A&M University; and an assistant professor at the University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston.
