Posted By: How May I Help You NC on June 30, 2014 Department: Admissions Reports to: Dean of Enrollment Management Internal contacts: Office of the Registrar, Office of Student Life, Vice-President and Dean of Faculty, faculty External Contacts: Prospective students/families at college fairs, colleagues at Decision Desk affiliated Schools’ of Music, New York City ensembles related to MSM faculty, high school guidance counselors and music education staff Date of posting: July 2014 Application Due: July 3, 2014 Start Date: As soon as filled Counseling/Recruiting: • Counsel prospective students, applicants and their families • Reply to correspondences, phone calls and emails from prospective applicants and their parents • College fair/recruitment nationwide • Travel as needed • Attend conferences as needed • Present “Information Sessions” after school tours • Coordinate group visits • Setup class visits for prospective students • Coordinate specific classes for class visits with faculty member(s) • Send class visit email to the student with schedule • Send out faculty email memos Admission Liaison for Assigned Departments: • Manage a caseload • Correspond with parents, applicants, and faculty of assigned caseload • Reconcile “problem files” (missing key materials) • Read and review admission files • Evaluate academic and language proficiency documentation • Maintain electronic and paper records from initial contact to matriculation • Coordinate and Manage prescreen evaluations • Schedule auditions • Notify caseload applicants of audition time • Setup applicant meeting with faculty, as necessary • Prepare for and attend Admission Committee meetings • Merge and email all prescreen and audition results (accept, deny, waitlist) • Evaluate Immunization Records for compliance with New York State Law • Work with Dean of Enrollment as Primary Contact with Public Relations and Communications Departments on Recruitment Advertising, Social Media and Web presence Data Entry: • Input inquiries of all prospective student in databases as needed and generate letters for mailing/emailing • Work with Decision Desk (Online Application and Media Upload site), Access database, Excel spreadsheets Other Responsibilities: • Assist other staff members as needed • Answer phones as needed • Give school tours as needed • Assist in preparation and maintenance of audition week binders, clipboards, and copies • Assist with updating materials for Acceptance and Confirmation mailings • Other duties, as assigned Click this link to view and apply for this job!
