Oakwood Welcomes New Students

Posted By: How May I Help You NC on July 25, 2014 Oakwood University will host its 2014 New Student Orientation on August 13-19. Themed "Get Connected!" the major focus of this event is to help make the experience of first-time students a special one all while informing the students of important information about their academic journey at Oakwood. The opening session speaker for the event is Andy Masters, an award-winning author and international speaker. Masters has written five books, earned four degrees, and has presented hundreds of informative and inspirational programs for faculty, staff and students. One of the new initiatives for Orientation is "Operation Move-in." According to Assistant Vice President for Student Services Ryan Smith, this initiative being held August 13 will provide Oakwood employees the opportunity to assist students with moving in their belongings, show them around the campus, or even pause and pray with parents and students.
