Alana Morris wrapped up a four-year playing career with the Lady Tiger Basketball program in March. As a senior, she was second on the team in assists and fourth in scoring. She scored in double-figures 12 times, including a career-high 14 points, three-times, last vs. EKU in the OVC Tournament.

The Bryant, Arkansas native majors in architectural engineering and has excelled in a demanding program. A repeat member of the Dean’s List, she won the 2011 Urban Housing Solutions Design Award while also being recognized as the 2012 STEM Honorable Mention Engineer of the Year.

Alana will complete her studies next year when she graduates with a bachelor’s of science in architectural engineering, May 2015.

TSUTigers: Talk about your overall TSU experience.

A: My overall experience at TSU has been great. I had especially love the family atmosphere you receive from the faculty.

TSUTigers: What do you love most about TSU?

A: Homecoming Week

TSUTigers: What will you miss most about playing basketball for TSU?

A: Being with my teammates 24/7

TSUTigers: What is your most memorable basketball moment at TSU?

A: Making it past the second round of the OVC tournament and the energy I received from playing on the court.

TSUTigers: What is your most memorable non-basketball moment at TSU?

A:Singing and dancing with my teammates in the “Caf” as a freshman

TSUTigers: How have you balanced a very demanding engineering major and playing basketball?

A: I balance my free time, basketball, and engineering. I always plan ahead.



TSUTigers: How do you feel social networking played a role in this season?

A: Social networking helped promote big games, spread the word on upcoming events and games. I think it played a big role in expanding the crowd and increasing the school spirit in students.

TSUTigers: Do you have a favorite TSU fan/supporter? If so, who?

A: Coach Moore

TSUTigers: What advice would you give to incoming freshman?

A: Have fun, but also take care of business.

TSUTigers: What has been your most challenging class at TSU?

A: Physics 2, Dr. Nargaraji

TSUTigers: Who is your favorite professor?

A: Ms. Jackson and Mr. Woods

TSUTigers: What organizations were you a part of outside of basketball?

A: AEI (Architectural Engineering Institute), NSBE ( National Society of Black Engineers)

TSUTigers: What’s next for you?

A: Graduation and receive a Master’s Degree

TSUTigers: Once you are an alumnus, how will you stay connected with TSU?

A: Attend Homecoming and come back to some games

TSUTigers: What do you know now that you didn’t know coming in as a freshman?

A: Networking, how close all the faculty are

TSUTigers: What have you learned at TSU that you will keep with you for the rest of your life?

A: Alma Mater, Networking, Making connections

TSUTigers: Is there anything else that you would like to say to the TSU family?

A: Thank you for guiding and assisting me through this four year journey. Hopefully, in the future I can give back to the school that made an impact on my life.
