Lifting As We Climb Holiday Wish List/Party
|
Posted By: Matt Williams on December 13, 2005 Dear Friends, In the spirit of giving this holiday season, I would like to humbly ask for your support on behalf of 10 families located here in northern Virginia that have been displaced by hurricane Katrina. I, along with four of my friends from college, have created a nonprofit organization called The Lifting As We Climb Foundation, Inc., which is committed to giving back to the community and mentoring underprivileged children. In line with our philanthropic mission to help children in need and in the spirit of the holidays, we have created the “LAWCF Hurricane Katrina Adopt-A-Family” program. Through this program, we have contacted each of the ten families and had them provide us with their “Holiday Wish Lists,” of both necessary and desired items. For your convenience, we have established an online registry identifying the profiles of each family and their Holiday Wish Lists. For months now we've watched helplessly as many families have struggled to rebuild and start over. On behalf of the Lifting As We Climb Foundation, I not only urge you, but challenge YOU to help rebuild and make a difference in the lives of these 10 families. Please click on the link to find out how you can bring a little joy to a few families in need. For more information regarding the organization and/or the Adopt a Family Program, please visit our website at www.liftingasweclimb.com. I thank you in advance for your support and assistance in bringing a little bit of joy to the lives of those who need it the most right now. Thanks Again for your support, If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |
