The 28-play preseason BOXTOROW team includes players from Division I and Division II historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). Trail is the only Spartan to make the preseason list. Trail, the preseason MEAC Defensive Player of the Year, paced the Spartans with 94 tackles, including 12.5 for loss and 8.5 sacks last year. His five forced fumbles tied for the most in the nation among Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) players, and he also recovered two fumbles, blocked two field goals and scored four touchdowns – three as a receiver on offense and one on a fumble recovery. Trail was a first-team FCS All-America selection last year by The Sports Network and is also on TSN’s preseason first team this year. He is a two-time All-MEAC first-team pick and was also a Sheridan Broadcast Network (SBN) Black College All-American in 2013.
